I work in the manner that I live my life. I make choices as I go based on both intuition and thoughtful consideration. My life is an intricate web of connections with many twists and turns, resulting from how I choose to react to what comes across my path. I am an “accidental artist” in the sense that I am most excited by the creative challenge of responding to the visual imagery that presents itself to me. I am a process-oriented artist and constant experimentation leads me to exciting discoveries.
The collages in this show are a manifestation of this way of working. I start by making monotype prints with imagery containing lots of textures and patterns. I then cut up the prints and reassemble them into collages creating connections and relationships between the pieces that I organize into new compositions.
